The start page shows the relevant information for every single user. Therefore it has to be personalized by subscription. Two modes have to be considered –passive subscription for centralized information based on role model (i.e. an employee from HR receiving every piece of HR content), Organizational Unit and location via AD and active subscription for individual information based on user choice and interest.

Linchpin offers full personalization (both active and passive by default). It’s one of the core features. Please see our demo video on https://www.linchpin-intranet.com/.

Personalization is the key to success

Linchpin uses extensive personalization to create a better flow of information. In particular when using top-down communication, Linchpin allows to filter information presented to an individual based on their role in the company, their location, their language, or other criteria.  This means that employees will by default only be presented with information that is believed to be relevant to them.  This is achieved by leveraging our Custom User Profile plugin, which is a core component of Linchpin. For presenting news, Linchpin follows a hierarchical approach and distinguishes between global, "must see" news, target group-specific news, and personal news.

Imagine a company with several sites in different locations around the world. There may be a global news feed in which all corporate news items from all locations are collected. Linchpin can filter these items based on users' profiles such that each employee gets only the items relevant to their location. Items categorised as "must see" are global and will be shown to all employees. In addition, each employee may choose additional news feeds they wish to subscribe to. LINCHPIN App Store

In LINCHPIN we call this application integration the App Store and it provides one simple way for all employees to find the tools for their everyday tasks. It's fully customisable: One click and they add their most needed applications to their dashboard. This is what it can look like.

Possibility to follow individual topics (e.g. finance) by subscription

Please refer to: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Watch+Pages,+Spaces+and+Blogs
You can 'watch' a Confluence page, blog post or space. Confluence will then send you a notification email whenever anyone updates your watched content.

You'll receive email notifications for:

  • Edits (unless the author clears the 'Notify watchers' check box).
  • Deletions.
  • Attachments, including new versions or deletions of an existing attachment.
  • Comments, including new comments, edits of existing comments or deletions of existing comments.

By default, Confluence will assign you as a watcher of any page or blog post that you create or edit. This behavior is called 'autowatch'.

There's no daily digest for email notifications. You'll receive immediate emails for important notifications (like mentions and new pages), but when lots of changes are being made at the same time, you'll only receive a single email with all the changes (within a 10 minute window).
You will not receive email notifications for content changes due to the output of a macro, because the page content itself hasn't been edited.
You need 'View' permission for the page, blog post or space to receive notifications.

Individual favorites toolbar (quick links)

Please refer to: https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf56/working-with-favourites-658737030.html
You can mark pages and spaces as favourites and then access them quickly from the Confluence dashboard and from your user profile.
