Update the Linchpin Intranet Suite to the latest version from the Atlassian Marketplace

Backup your data

To back up your data, please first make a copy of the database. This is usually done by your Confluence system administrator.

(Warnung) We recommend that you first perform the update on a test instance regardless of whether you have performed a backup or not.

Update the Linchpin Intranet Suite

Go to your Confluence's Universal Plugin Manager and look for 'Linchpin Intranet Suite' in the app list. Check if there's an 'Update' button next to the app indicating that there's a new version available for your system. Click the button.

(Warnung) Please note that in order to enjoy all the advantages of the Linchpin Intranet Suite, we strongly advise you to not update individual Linchpin apps manually via the Atlassian Marketplace.

(Warnung) We intend to provide new major (feature) releases for the Linchpin Intranet Suite about every 10 weeks via the Atlassian Marketplace.

Quality assurance

Please check that all Linchpin apps are listed and active in the Confluence App Manager. Then perform a quality assurance review on the apps and data as needed.

If you have any problems, please contact your account manager or contact our support team, e.g. via chat on this page.

Optional: Deactivate apps not needed

The Linchpin Intranet Suite provides you with a fixed set of features. If you do not want to use one of these features, you can deactivate the app in Confluence's Universal Plugin Manager at any time.

Is the pricing model for the Linchpin Intranet Suite stable?
  • New Linchpin apps may be integrated into the Linchpin Intranet Suite as additional components, but this does not increase the price.
  • Price increases are likely to be triggered only by Atlassian's annual price increases.

How do app updates work after the upgrade to the Linchpin Intranet Suite?
  • After you installed the Linchpin Intranet Suite, update notifications for individual apps are no longer displayed in the Confluence App Manager.
  • As soon as a new version of the Linchpin Intranet Suite is available in the Marketplace, you will see a single update for the Linchpin Intranet Suite app displayed in Confluence's Universal Plugin Manager.
  • After updating the Linchpin Intranet Suite the latest version for all apps within the bundle are available in your Confluence.
Can I still update individual apps?

Please do not update individual Linchpin apps manually via the Atlassian Marketplace, once you switched to the Linchpin Intranet Suite bundle. If you continue to update individual apps, it might cause database incompatibilities and issues with future version updates of the Linchpin Intranet Suite.

How often will the Linchpin Intranet Suite be updated?
  • We will release major (feature) updates for the Linchpin Intranet Suite roughly every 10 weeks.
  • In addition to these planned feature releases, we may also provide important bugfix updates on an ad-hoc basis for the Linchpin Intranet Suite. These updated will be provided via the Atlassian Marketplace.
  • Please note that we will only provide hotfix updates for the latest version of the Linchpin Intranet Suite.
How often should I update my Linchpin Intranet Suite?
  • We strongly recommend to always update the Linchpin Intranet Suite to the latest version available in the Atlassian Marketplace.
  • You should always perform a "dry run" for any version update of the Linchpin Intranet Suite on a testing instance. Ideally, the test instance will have content data cloned from production.
  • We consider any major release of the Linchpin Intranet Suite to be 'production ready'. Some issues may only occur under specific circumstances, though, so we'll also release ad-hoc updates for critical bugs.
  • Please note that we will only provide ad-hoc hotfix updates for the latest version of the Linchpin Intranet Suite.
