When planning a new intranet project in a company, you should always consult with the employee representatives group (sometimes called a works council or workers' council). As representatives of the employees, this group often attempts to prevent employee-specific data from being collected and analyzed (for example, performance measurements, such as the number of edits made, new pages created, etc.) Here, we provide an overview of Linchpin functions in this context, as well as some general recommendations.

General recommendations 

  • Involve the employee representative group from the start, to clarify all fundamental concerns and interests.
  • Establish an agreement with the employee representatives so they become supporters of the new system.
  • Provide the employee representatives with their own space in Linchpin to use as their communication platform.
  • Do not store any personal data in tracking tools.
  • Do not use add-ons that save any personal data.
  • Explicitly discuss and clarify the functions mentioned in the table above, and define a technical solution.
