The client

iCjobs is an enterprise within the Intelligence Competence Center AG. The Intelligence Competence Center has specialized in search technologies with professional consulting since 2005. As a specialist in IT architecture, knowledge management and ontologies (semantic search), it offers individual solutions for complex information networks. Since 2006, iCjobs has been the biggest duplicate-free job search engine in the German speaking market. The search engine searches more than 1.3 million enterprise pages as well as a variety of job portals and other online presences. iCjobs offers over 2 million positions per day and thus provides their users with the biggest number and range of up-to-date job openings.

The assignment

Conception, design and front end programming of the relaunch of the job search engine iCjobs.com. In addition to a more modern look, the goal of the relaunch was improved usability, enabling the searcher to quickly find suitable job offers. The user should enjoy using iCjobs and be encouraged to return and use it again.

The solution

User experience

In addition to powerful individual filter functionalities, the search result page allows the user to quickly scroll through all results to get an overview without 'turning' pages. A comfortable user experience across multiple sessions is enhanced by a preview function of job posts, and tools such as a memory function, saved searches and subscription to similar job offers. The design was developed to allow for the seamless use on both a mobile tablet and a classic desktop computer.
