Welcome to Linchpin Essentials 1.5!

The Linchpin Essentials 1.5 release contains several new features for Linchpin. Of course, we always try to improve our apps, so you can count on some patches, bugfixes and overall feature improvements.

We prepared a short summary of the most important changes, so you can keep track of them. If you want more info about a specific function, use the navigation to jump to this function's release notes.

Let's begin with Linchpin User Profiles.

A new feature is here and we are sure that you will love it – Structural Charts. You already know Org Charts. Structural Charts are similar but more powerful and versatile, since they can display the whole structure of your company.

We also improved the handling of cascade select profile fields. You can upload CSV data for cascade select profile fields directly in the field configuration dialog now.

Changes to LDAP are also part of this release. Firstly, we added a synchronization report view which will display detailed information about the sync. Secondly, phone fields can write data back into your LDAP now.

And last but not least, we improved the search within the People Directory. Exact searches are possible now.

Linchpin Theme also received some love.

We improved the "Linchpin Teaser" macro in various ways. Firstly, the macro works better on multi-column dashboards now. Secondly, we added a help text to it. Thirdly, we fixed a bug which removed the chosen URL when re-editing the macro.

A great new addition is also the live preview for the configuration of Linchpin Enterprise News colors! Watch how the changes on the color configuration affect your news in real time and choose the right look for your news more easily!

We also improved the performance of the app. We enabled browser caching and optimized both the logo and the header image.

Linchpin Theme

Linchpin Theme received an update focusing on improvements. We added a live preview to the configuration of Linchpin Enterprise News colors! Now you can directly see how your news will look like while you configure the colors.

Improvements

• We have improved the display of the "Linchpin Teaser" macros. They are more useful on multi-column dashboards now.
• We added a help text to the "Linchpin Teaser" macro body to improve the user experience.
• We improved the performance by enabling browser caching and optimizing the logo and header image.
• We added a live preview for Linchpin Enterprise News colors within the configuration.

Bugfixes

• We fixed UI issues within the theme configuration dialog.
• We fixed a wrong cache behavior which occurred after using the wizard in Confluence >=7.10.
• The "Linchpin Teaser" macro browser will display the selected URL again when you edit the macro.
• We fixed an issue with wrong colors of labels within the theme configuration of spaces.
• We fixed an issue related to colors of 4th level elements within the menu.
• We fixed a bug related to height restrictions of the header background image.

Linchpin User Profiles

Welcome to the era of Structural Charts! This new feature resembles the Org Charts but can be used to display the whole structure of your company. 

New features

• Structural charts – The new structural charts allow you to display the whole structure of your company in a clear and compact view.
• You can upload CSV data for cascading select fields directly in the field configuration dialog now.
• Administrators can find detailed information about LDAP sync results in the new synchronization report view now.
• Phone fields can write data back into your LDAP now.

Improvements

• We optimized the search of text fields within the People Directory, allowing for exact searches and better search results.
• We prevented an exception in logs when Linchpin User Profiles is being used together with "eazyBI Reports and Charts for Confluence".
• We allow multiple value tags in XML syncs.
• We improved the URL mode for profile pictures.

Bugfixes

• We fixed display errors within the People Directory, related to the Confluence search returning duplicate users.
• We fixed the handling of multiselect fields in LDAP syncs.
• We fixed compatibility problems of the Content Responsibility macro with Linchpin Mobile.

Version 1.5.1 of Linchpin Essentials is a patch release.

This patch releases addresses security issues within Linchpins "Headline with menu" macro.

Version 1.5.2 of Linchpin Essentials is a patch release.

This patch release addresses some security concerns, ensures compatibility with the "Atlassian Troubleshooting and Support Tools" app in version 1.32.1 and sees some overall improvements and bugfixes.
