What are Suggested Apps?

Suggested Apps are apps that have been proposed by the user. The admin can decide whether or not to include it in the apps.

How do I suggest an app?

To suggest an app, access the Launchpad and click on the button "Suggest an App" in the All Apps section.

Next, fill out the form.

The red star behind App title and URL marks this information is obligatory.

Filling out the description can help the admin to decide whether or not the app is of any use.

Beware!

Add http(s):// for external links when typing in the URL.

How to manage a suggested App

To manage the suggested apps, click on the rack-wheel icon and then on "Apps."

Within the app management, click on "Suggested Apps" to access all proposed apps. To edit a suggested app, click on the pencil icon.

How to edit a suggested App

Once you've clicked on the pencil icon, you can edit a suggested app.

You can change the title as well as the URL; the red stars are an indicator that these categories are obligatory.

Additionally, you are able to add/edit a short description, dedicate it to a specific department, upload an app icon, add labels, or add the app to a category.

Information on "Translate to further languages"

The globe icon is only visible if you've purchased the Linchpin Suite as it's part of the package.

If you don't see it, you aren't able to translate the short description above the globe icon.

For further information, visit Translate other Apps.

Info on the app icon

When uploading a new app icon you can use PNG, GIF, JPG images.
The uploaded image is scaled to 50x50 px.

Further down, you have the options regarding the visibility on the Launchpad.

There are three options you can choose from:

  • No
  • Display this app for all users as "Recommended Apps"
  • Display this app as "Recommended App" for users matching specific filter criteria.

Choose an option and click on "Update and publish" to save the changes.
