Seibert Media is always interested in working with competent and dedicated employees who would like to enrich not only themselves and their respective teams,  but the company as well.

The market is tight and highly qualified professionals are rare. However, we don’t embark on adventures or make utopian promises - we look for capable and likable people and in return, we offer a cool work atmosphere, collegiality, and reasonable salaries.

And this is how our recruiting process works:

Your application

Application Methods

First of all: please apply online. We are a service provider that uses technology and internet based interfaces at our core. Naturally, we prefer this sphere of work. We really only want to use or manage paper when absolutely necessary.

There are two ways to start your journey at Seibert Media: you can either fill out our application form or you can send us an application video. In addition to your contact information (e-mail and phone number), your application should always include the usual attachments (resume, proof of qualifications, etc.). A cover letter is acceptable but not required. Instead, you can take more time filling out the application form or making a video. This is entirely up to you.

If you would like to apply via the form, go ahead! It contains all the things we need to know from applicants to be able to successfully assess an application at first glance.  So feel free to take your time, read through the questions at your own pace, and answer them honestly. We want to get to know the real you, exactly as you are. That's why there are a few questions that you might not typically expect.

Are you feeling a little more daring? Then apply with an application video! You can either just tell us something off the cuff or you can answer the questions from the application form. For the video quality - you can use your cellphone or if you feel like it and you know your stuff, a more professional video.

Of course, if you feel like it, you can do both - the application form and the video. You can simply attach or link a video in the completed application form. But really a video is always optional so if you don't feel like it, you won't be at a disadvantage in the application process.

By the way, we are convinced that you can accurately assess your skills and are aware of the value of your work. That's why we require that you tell us your salary expectations as part of your application.

Please do not send any applications by mail. We ask for your understanding since we cannot process documents received in this way. Please apply exclusively via our application form or via email.

It goes without saying that we will treat your information confidentially and will only take note of data that could be relevant within the meaning of the General Equal Treatment Act if you actively communicate it. The knowledge of such data in no way affects the processing and the chances of success of your application.

How does the application process work?

As soon as you have filled out our application form, your application is on its way to us. We will send you a confirmation as soon as possible.

If your application looks exciting to us, we will always invite you to a get-to-know-you interview as a first step. All our interviews take place via Google Meet. We will send you a link via email, and with a simple click, you can take part in the interview.

The interview will take place with 1-2 other individuals. We would like to chit-chat and get to know you in a relaxed environment. We may also clarify some questions that came to our minds when we viewed your application. Sometimes there may be people that take part in your interview who have nothing to do with the job you have applied for. This is not a bad thing at all, but we really take a close look at your application, and perhaps another area in our company is a better fit for you and your qualifications.

It may also be the case that we would like to record the interview. However, it's perfectly okay if you don't want us to. Open and honest communication is important to us from the beginning and if you feel uncomfortable with it, then we completely understand. It is normal for people to refuse - no one is offended and we continue the interview process as normal.

Important to know: If we do get your permission to record, then we only store it for only as long as necessary and at the latest, we will delete it when the application process is over. Of course, you can also ask us to delete it at any time. Directly after the interview, if you realize that you don't want us to keep a recording then please share this with the team.

If the conversation is cool and both sides want to do it, then the application process continues. And yes, both sides. Because sometimes it can happen that after the first interview, applicants say that they don't want to work for us. Which is completely legitimate, of course. It would then be cool for us to know what the reason was.

Either an interview takes place or, in some teams, a trial work day. Currently, some of these take place completely remotely via Google Meet. But sometimes also hybrid. You may be sitting with a few people in the meeting room and others join in because they also want to get to know you.

In general, job interviews at our company are probably different than what you would expect at other companies. Sometimes they are perceived as a bit hectic because our goal is to make sure that new employees really fit in with us. That's why we don't leave the assessment of candidates to an HR boss or a department head (these titles don't even exist at our company), but rather we select new colleagues as a team. The most important thing for us is to get to know each other personally and to clarify professional strengths and weaknesses. In concrete terms, this means that job interviews are open to all employees and anyone who wants to can attend. But don't panic! There won't be 30 people sitting across from you asking you questions. It's important to us that you feel comfortable and don't get totally stressed out.

Who looks at your application?

Annalena, Celine, Manuel, and Silke look at all applications that Seibert Media receives, and process them. In addition, all employees can get involved in the evaluation of applicants. From the beginning of the application process, employees can communicate with applicants and help shape decisions that affect their team.

After the application

Onboarding

Once we have successfully completed the application process, we're delighted to welcome you to the team #hurray!

You will spend most of your first day with Delaina, Annalena or Celine from the HR team - the entire day will probably take place online, also via Google Meet. Besides two other colleagues, Annalena and Celine also take care of recruiting.  So, it is likely that you would have already communicated a lot with one of them during your application process.

In principle, we plan most of our onboardings remotely. But if you can’t work well or concentrated from home and you are a german based employee, we are happy to book you a room in our office. And if you are really lucky, there are likely several newbies (that's what new colleagues are called), so we can see if it is possible to do the onboarding for the german based employees together in the office. Of course, only if everyone feels comfortable with it.

The day starts with a Meet&Greet. Fun fact: it used to be called Cake&Greet because newbies would be encouraged to bring/make a cake to eat together on their first day at the german office. On the onboarding flight plan, if you complete this task, you already earn 3 stars! As an US employee you might be somehow creative, perhaps you'll meet one of your new colleagues soon or you'll be invited to travel to the german headquarter. Then you may show your baking skills. This creates the perfect opportunity to meet fellow colleagues who may not be directly in your own team. After the Meet&Greet, the kickoff begins! During this time, we introduce you to all of our systems, show you how to book your working hours, how we communicate internally and answer all your questions.

Of course, we invite you to lunch if you are in the office, we will order lunch for you at our new office restaurant "Seabird".

Afterward, we continue with our kickoff, which typically finishes at 3:30 p.m. with an after-work party. Here you sit together with the team in a relaxed atmosphere. Maybe you'll also find out how the next few working days will go.

What is the current situation with Home Office?

This is only applicable for german based employees. Our US employees all work 100% from home.

Here, the motto is: whatever works best for you.

If you can't work from home because your whole family is also running around, your roommates are too noisy, or maybe you simply don't have a workspace set up, you can always come to the office and book a free seat.

We do have team offices - but no fixed assigned seats. We have a flexible seating concept: each team has a free hand internally as far as the organization of the seating is concerned because every project and every task is unique.

Therefore, there is no rigid "my table" and "your table". If it makes sense for colleague X and colleague Y to sit together to work on a project, then nothing should stand in their way. This does mean, though, that each table should be left in the evening in such a way that another person is happy to sit there in the morning. All workstations are equipped with ergonomic chairs, height-adjustable tables, and state-of-the-art technology.

However, if you would prefer to work from home but don't have the right set-up, we will help you to equip your workplace so that you can work optimally. Our IT support will be happy to help you with the hardware. Besides a Macbook, they will send you everything you need at home. If you live nearby, you can also pick it up at the office.

Everything else can always be discussed. Your 20-year-old wooden chair doesn't do it anymore? Then we'll see about sending you a slightly more ergonomic model. As soon as you don't want to work in your home office anymore and you notice that you come to the office every day, the equipment will just have to find its way back.

Of course, all covid rules of conduct apply in our offices. We ask you to take follow these on your own accord.

Communication by email

We use Jira to optimize our application process for you. It allows us to interact with you quickly and concisely. So you can expect us to send emails often and we love it when you reply. Just like getting to know each other via email.

Communication by phone and Google Meet

It often happens that we invite you for a phone call. Even more often, however, we invite you to a Google Meet, because that gives us an even better impression of each other. As a rule, we then arrange an appointment with you or tell you times when you can best reach our contact persons.

The electronic knowledge test

Depending on the position you have applied for, we may invite you to participate in an electronic qualification test. Please understand this test as a further measure to get to know you, in order to determine how well you fit into the Seibert Media team in terms of your professional competence. The job interview is independent of this test and is required in any case for the application process.

The interview

At some point, of course, we would like to meet you in person. During an interview, we communicate openly and honestly with each other. And of course, we prepare for our interview and expect the same from you. If you want to leave a strong impression, know how to answer to the following questions:

  • How can you enrich Seibert Media?
  • What do you expect from our cooperation?
  • What are your goals for the next three to five years?

If you have meaningful answers to these questions, your impression will certainly be lasting. And for us, an interview is a dialog, it's not one-sided. Do you have questions about a topic? What are you interested in? We are curious. And do you know why Seibert Media is interesting to you? We'll want to know.

Directly after the interview, we will talk to the team and tell you whether you are a right fit or not.

Our offer and the setting

In order to be fair, we compare you with colleagues who are taking on similar tasks at our company and then create a job offer. You can check our offer thoroughly, compare it with your goals and ideas, and give us feedback. If everything fits, we might soon say:

Welcome to our ambitious and creative team full of character. Welcome to Seibert Media.
