An introduction to Linchpin intranets

Linchpin DIY has links to all of the apps used in Linchpin and details the configuration steps for setting up your own Linchpin instance from scratch, in an easy to follow diagram (with links to appropriate information).

Also, see the main Linchpin website:

You (or customers) can generate a hosted Linchpin intranet using SWIFT:

While you are looking through the Linchpin DIY guide, please note any questions or information holes you have:

  • What was confusing?
  • What needs more detail?
  • What would you like to know more about? (What do you think customers would like to know more about?)
  • Is the format of the DIY guide appropriate/adequate?

Note, this guide will be updated to take into account the new Linchpin Manager app, available on the Marketplace early October.

See also Linchpin Touch (for canteens, factory floors, etc) and Linchpin Mobile for more use-cases of how customers can take advantage of Linchpin.

What's involved in Linchpin projects for partners and customers

We have an extensive project 'template', that partners can use to explain and implement Linchpin projects. This includes agendas for all of the workshops, templates to be filled out during the workshops, and agendas for the typical training courses.

This is available on our main site, so customers can see what's involved in a Linchpin project, right from the start.

The workshop templates are used to define Linchpin's structure, navigation, design, permissions, content lifecycle, and personalization features.

The training course outlines cover: basic and advanced user training, configuration training, administrator training and train-the-trainer sessions, as well as a session for features and add-ons.

Please do let us know:

  • What you liked best about the Linchpin project 'template'?
  • What you would like expanded with more detail?
  • If there is anything else that would help you as a partner explain Linchpin projects to customers, and help you implement them.
