Linchpin News Digest is great - but why? On this page we will tell you what Linchpin News Digest does and what use cases it covers.
What does Linchpin News Digest do?
You can use Linchpin News Digest to keep your users up-to-date on the latest blog posts/news.
The digest is a regular e-mail which features excerpts of all news that were published within your intranet since the sending of the last digest e-mail.
You can of course configure Linchpin News Digest to your liking. You can include all news within the e-mail or specific news (for example from a specific space or news of a specific category only).
You can also decide if all users or only selected users will receive the digest e-mail.
Users will only see news in their digest which they can view in your system, too. If a user lacks reading permission for a specific news, they won't see this news in their digest either.
There are two main use cases for Linchpin News Digest.
Draw more users into your Linchpin or Confluence instance
Perhaps you have users within your intranet who do not visit your intranet instance very regularly. Linchpin News Digest can help to draw attention to your intranet and to actually use it.
You can set up a regular update via e-mail which contains the excerpts of the latest news/blog posts. They act as an appetizer. If the user is interested in the news, they can click on the included link and will be redirected to the news within your intranet instance.
Once the user is already using the intranet, they might as well check out other content, too.
Don't let anyone miss important news
Sometimes a user might not have the access to the intranet for a certain period of time. But you still want to make sure that they don't miss important news.
Linchpin News Digest helps in this regard. The digest is sent regularly (you can decide how often) and includes all newly published news since the last digest.
This way a user can't miss any important news, even if they can't access the intranet regularly. Since all news (which were configured to be sent via the digest) can be found within various digest mails, users can easily access them at any point in time.
