What is the Profile macro?

The "Profile" macro displays a vCard (business card) of any profile. You can insert this macro into any page.

The "Profile" macro is a pre-installed Confluence macro which we overwrite to display additional information about the user.

Inside the Profile macro, you need to specify two settings.

User

Enter the name of the person whose profile should be displayed. Start to enter the name and the macro will display profiles that fit.

View mode

The default view mode shows the fields that your admin has configured within the profile editor.

The customized view mode allows you to display the profile fields you want to display.

Customized view mode

SINCE VERSION 3.6

We've improved the display of the profile macro when the column, in which the macro is in, is not wide enough. Information won't be cut off anymore in this case.

Configure the Profile macro in default view mode

Navigate to Confluence administration → Linchpin User Profiles → Profile editor → vCard.

Here you can choose between two content options.

Profile header fields will display all information defined in the profile header area of the User profile tab.

Individual selection will display any profile field you want.

Profile header fields

The vCard will display any field which you choose within the profile header area.

Individual selection

In the individual selection you can display any profile field inside the vCard. You can add as many fields as you wish to.
