Welcome to Linchpin Intranet Suite 5.4!

The biggest star of this update is without a doubt: Timeslots for Events!

This new feature enables you to organize your event even better. Create timeslots to split events into multiple sub-events that can be booked by participants.

Moreover, we've added the ability to use several more field types as filters in the user directory.

You have the ability to set a default news teaser image per space. You don’t have to use one default image for all news anymore!

We’ve also added the option to add an image description for images in Microblog posts, which is especially useful for screen readers.

For the Linchpin Mobile App we’ve added the option to change the order and visibility of menu items to provide quick access to the most important features for your users.

The Linchpin Intranet Suite introduces more support for screen readers.

Linchpin User Profiles

Extended filters and screen reader improvements

Accessibility

• We added screen reader compatibility for the "add profile picture" button and for several links to profiles

New features

• We added the ability to use several more field types as filters in the user directory: full name, phone and IM
• We adjusted the logic of link detection to avoid false positives (e.g. for academic titles)

Improvements

• If you use "User & Group Sync" by re:solution (version 2.6 or newer) to fill Linchpin User Profile "IdP" fields, org charts and personalization will now pick up updated values immediately. You don't need to clear caches manually anymore.

Linchpin Theme

Introducing a scrollable navigation as a dark feature & accessibility updates.

Accessibility

• We added screen reader support for the "headline with menu" macro and the "action drawer" button
• We improved screen reader support for the Space Directory and Linchpin Sidebar

New Features

• We added the dark feature "seibertmedia.linchpin.navigation.scroll.menu" to display scroll arrows in top level navigation instead of a line break, if there is not enough space for menu items

Bugfixes

• We adjusted the intranet name element and hide the header, if it is not needed
• We fixed the doubled header in the Terms of Use apps' disclaimer view

Linchpin Events

This version of Linchpin Events introduces event timeslots.

Accessibility

• This release contains several accessibility improvements for screen readers and keyboard navigation

New feature

• You can now split events into timeslots to enable use cases like vaccinations, massages or photo shootings

Improvements

• The event notification now uses short URLs of linked pages in the ICS file (useful if the page name changes)
• We updated some outdated dependencies to avoid security issues

Bugfixes

• When updating or deleting an event, all participants are notified instead of only 100 (was broken since version 3.5.5)

• CSV export of participants now works if participants are unsynced

• We fixed the workbox app disabling itself when upgrading Linchpin Events
• 5.4.1 We fixed a bug that cancelled events in calendars via the ICS file attached to notifications about the event.

Linchpin Enterprise News

Default news teaser image per space and screen reader improvements

Accessibility

• We improved the screen reader compatibility of "subscribe to news" buttons, "read more" links in news tiles and the Cover Stories slide navigation.

New features

• We added the ability to set a default news teaser image per space. Previously, you could only set a global default teaser image.

Bugfixes

• News feed macros configured to show zero posts will now show five posts to prevent errors in Confluence mobile view.

Linchpin Microblog

The microblog became more accessible.

Accessibility

• We added keyboard support for editing and deleting attachments.
• We added screen reader compatibility for user profile links.
• We added the ability to add an alt text for images.

Bugfixes

• 5.4.1 We fixed a problem with missing microposts.

Security fixes

• It was possible under certain circumstances to read space and topic information as an unauthorized user. This has been fixed.

Linchpin Mobile

Create your own arrangement of navigation menus on mobile now.

New features:

• Individual navigation: You can now configure the set of navigation items being displayed in the mobile app for users of your company’s intranet. Change the order of items in the app’s main navigation, move items to the “More” section, or completely hide menu items that you do not want your users to access. You find the menu navigation in the “Linchpin Mobile” section of the Confluence administration area.
