Attention - This feature is deactivated in Linchpin Essentials

You will find the option for Custom Landing Spaces in your Linchpin administration. You will also notice that you can't use this option. Some functions which require personalization are limited to the Linchpin Intranet Suite.

So why do you see this option in essentials?

Because it belongs to the child-app Linchpin Theme that was formally available as an individual app on the Atlassian Marketplace. Linchpin Theme is both the child app of Linchpin Essentials and Linchpin Intranet Suite. However, if you wish to use Custom Landing Spaces or other personalization features, please refer to the Linchpin Intranet Suite.

What is Custom Landing Spaces?

Custom Landing Spaces will redirect users to different spaces when they log in. This feature is based on the user's profile data.

Example: If all your pages are available in two languages, they will probably be located in two different spaces - one for each language. You could use Custom Landing Spaces to redirect English speaking users to the English space and German speaking users to the German space.

This setting overrides individual user settings.

If a user's profile matches the filters you set in Custom Landing Spaces, they will be redirected to the space you have chosen. Even when a user has defined another starting page in their profile.

Important

Important: Changes made to Custom Landing Spaces become visible and effective only then when all affected users log out and then log in again!

How to access the Custom Landing Spaces settings

Navigate to Confluence administration > Linchpin Theme > Custom Landing Spaces.

Enable Custom Landing Spaces

To enable Custom Landing Spaces, you need to define at least one attribute.

The attributes you define represent fields in user profiles. Select at least the first attribute and click on the Save CUP fields button.

Info

Please note:

Older systems: This feature requires the Linchpin Manager app to work.

Up-to-date systems: This feature requires the Linchpin Intranet Suite app to work. We terminated Linchpin Manager in version 1.6 (Suite version 3.3). The functions are now integrated into the Linchpin Intranet Suite.

You can also use the profile fields provided by our Linchpin User Profiles app.

Configure Custom Landing Spaces

Define attributes

You can select up to three attributes as filters for Custom Landing Spaces.

Those attributes represent fields in user profiles. If you select more than one attribute, all attributes need to match the user profile to work.

Click on the Select a profile field button. A drop-down menu with available attributes will open. Choose the attribute you wish.

Repeat this step for the second and third attribute, if needed.

Click on the Save CUP fields button when you are done.

Add landing spaces

Now, it's time to define which attributes and spaces should be linked.

Your configuration window will offer 1-3 attribute fields, depending on the amount of attributes you defined in the previous step.

Click on the + Add landing space button.

Now, you need to type in the data.

Landing space

Type in the name of the space which should be used as a landing space.

Attribute fields

Type in the name of the attributes which should be used as filters.

(warning) The attributes you type in need to match the information in user profiles!

Example in the GIF

First attribute is set to languages.

The space Washington is a landing space for users with English as their language.

The space Frankfurt is a landing space for users with German as their language.

If more than one entry applies to a user, the first entry in the list will be used.
