Agile Hive - SAFe Reports Configuration

In this section, you can configure the foundation of your reports.

This page is broken up into four categories:

  1. Issue Types
  2. Weighted Shortest Job First
  3. Program Increment
  4. Linking

The following entries are optional, you do not necessarily need to fill these in:

  • Depending on the SAFe Configuration being used ("Full SAFe", "Large Solution SAFe", "Portfolio SAFe" or "Essential SAFe"), the issue types for "Portfolio" and/or "Large Solution" can be omitted.
  • The "Weighted Shortest Job First" category, including all of its fields, can be omitted if another prioritization method will be used.


Issue Types
Portfolio
  • You can enter the required issue types to be used at the Portfolio level and the reports that are to be created for them here. The order is not important.
  • We recommend that you create "Epic (Portfolio)" & "Enabler (Portfolio)" as issue types and enter them here.
Large Solution
  • You can enter the required issue types to be used at the Large Solution level and the reports that are to be created for them here. The order is not important.
  • We recommend that you create "Capability (Large Solution)" & "Enabler (Large Solution)" as issue types and enter them here.
Program
  • You can enter the required issue types to be used at the Program level and the reports that are to be created for them here. The order is not important.
  • We recommend that you create "Feature (Program)", "Enabler (Program)", "Risk (Program)" & "Impediment (Program)" as Issue types and enter them here.
Weighted Shortest Job First
Job Size
  • First create the custom field "Job Size" with the type "Select List (single choice)".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "Job Size" as the field name.
  • We recommend that you enter the following values: 
    • None, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 20, 40
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
Original Job Size
  • The Original Job Size field saves the original Job Size value when an issue's status category changes to In Progress in order to display the initial estimate and track changes to this estimate.
  • First, create the custom field "Original Job Size" with the type "Number Field".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "Original Job Size" as the field name.
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
Business Value
  • First, create the custom field "Business Value" with the type "Select List (single choice)".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "Business Value" as the field name.
  • We recommend that you enter the following values: 
    • None, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 20, 40
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
Time Criticality
  • First, create the custom field "Time Criticality" with the type "Select List (single choice)".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "Time Criticality" as the field name.
  • We recommend that you enter the following values:
    • None, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 20, 40
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
RROE
  • First, create the custom field "RROE" from the type "Select List (single choice)".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "RROE" as the field name.
  • We recommend that you enter the following values:
    • None, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 20, 40
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
Cost of Delay
  • First, create the custom field "Cost of Delay" with the type "Number Field".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "Cost of Delay" as the field name.
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
WSJF
  • First, create the custom field "WSJF" with the type "Number Field".
  • You can choose the name of the field. We recommend that you enter "WSJF" as the field name.
  • Finally, add the field here (of course, you can also use an existing field that follows the above specification).
Program Increment
PI
  • In this section, you can specify which field contains the Program Increment information. 
  • You can choose between "Easy Agile Programs for Jira" or fields of the following field types:
    • Version Picker (multiple versions)
    • Fix Version/s
  • Agile Hive - SAFe Reports is compatible with the Easy Agile Programs for Jira app and therefore you can select this entry from the drop-down list. If "Easy Agile Programs for Jira" is selected, the PI information is obtained directly from that app and subsequently processed to produce the Agile Hive - SAFe Reports.
Linking
Implementation Link
  • All hierarchical link types must be stored here.
  • The order is not important.
  • The link direction is always outwards.
  • We recommend that you enter the hierarchical link types in capital letters so that they stand out from normal links.
Program Project Category
  • All Program-level projects must use the same project category. This must be entered here.
  • We recommend that you use "ART" as the project category.
