For: VERSION 1.4.0

Description

The Burnup gadget displays the completed story points, the generated value, and/or the days consumed for a selected number of issues over a period of time.

  • The green "Story Points" line shows how many story points were completed at which point in time, both as a percentage and in total.
  • The purple "Value" line shows how much value was generated at which point in time. The value itself is calculated from the sum of the business value, time criticality and RROE, which must be defined in the selected issues.
  • The blue "Time Estimation" line shows at which point in time how much of the estimated time from the Team issues was used. The "Original Estimate" is the underlying field.

You can click on the individual points on the green "Story Points" line to see the following information:

  • the date at that point.
  • the sum of Story Points on this date.
  • the progress made, as a percentage.
  • the underlying issues, which can be viewed in the issue search results list.

You can click on the individual points on the purple "Value" line to see the following information:

  • the date at that point.
  • the sum of the Value on this date.
  • the Value achieved, as a percentage.
  • the underlying issues, which can be viewed in the issue search results list.

You can click on the individual points on the purple "Time Estimation" line to see the following information:

  • the date at that point.
  • the sum of the Estimated Time at that point.
  • the progress made, as a percentage.
  • the underlying issues, which can be viewed in the issue search results list.

Gadget configuration

You can configure the following settings in this gadget:

Chart Title

You can choose a title to replace the default title of this gadget.

Level

Important: You can either use the combination of "Level" and "Issue" or the JQL Selector. You cannot combine both.

From the drop-down menu, you can select the SAFe level you want to view (Portfolio; Large Solution; Program), which changes what is available in the "Issue" field below.

Issue

After you have selected an item in the "Level" drop-down above, you will see the corresponding issues here.

You can only select issues that do not have the status category "Done" (green).

JQL Selector

Instead of using the combination of "Level" and "Issue", you can use the JQL Selector, which allows you to define a filter based on JQL.

If you have already selected an issue using "Level" and "Issue", you have to reset the drop-down "Level", otherwise those issues will remain selected - this is an open bug.

When an issue is selected in "Issue", the JQL Selector field is ignored.

Start DateStart of the analysis period. This must be before the End Date (required).
End DateEnd of the analysis period (required)

- 4

Setting a date sets a marker on the selected day. A total of up to four such markers can be stored per gadget.

Please note that the date should be within the time period defined by "Start Date" and "End Date", otherwise the marker will not be displayed.
